Buying Off-Plan in Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi has become a strong alternative to Dubai for property buyers, with island communities built around beaches, culture and golf. Foreigners can buy freehold in designated investment zones, which include Saadiyat, Yas, Reem, Fahid and Hudayriyat islands. Registration costs are lower than in Dubai (2% instead of 4%), and many projects come from the government-linked developers Aldar and Modon.
